A Little Introduction

Once upon a time there was a girl––a college student––who found herself on summer break with too much craft paper (is there ever such a thing?) and too much time.

So, she decided to start a little arts and craft shop and call it Love, Kylie Designs. Though entering the world of Etsy wasn’t necessarily the easiest thing (I mean how in the world does one know how much to charge for shipping a canvas? And who really likes doing publicity, anyways? but that’s a topic for another day), she enjoyed her quick stint in entrepreneurship an creative business (and the couple dollars she made in profits––enough for ice cream three nights in a row). However, as all great summer flings do, things fizzled out when summer, well, ended. She headed back to school and traded her Sharpie pens and mod-podge for textbooks and research papers (happily, mind you). And the sweet little shop closed it’s proverbial doors.

Then, a strange thing occurred to said girl. She walked across a stage, was handed a diploma, and told “Congrats, grad!” Her love-affair with education came to an end and again found herself with too much craft paper and too much time. So, she decided to return to her mod-podge and handmade roots, as any young-creative-hardly-employed-happy-free-confused-and-lonely-at-the-same-time post-college grad might do. Hello, Etsy!

In theory, this blog is the musings of all thing creative––what to do with extra lace and how to write a meaningful thank you card. But don’t get too excited, this is the start of a long, long relationship. And like most relationships, the beginning is a little… well, awkward. Especially when it’s a blind double-date and half way through the evening you’re still not sure exactly who is on the date with whom. Ya––that’s awkward. But, I digress. We’ll fumble around and cut each other off and keep trying until we’re finishing each other’s sentences and skipping class just to “be together.” True love.
